South Baltic Winter Bathing Events - Newsletter No 3
Next month begins, a lot of work is behind us, but still more to come. In October we are continuing our efforts to make the International Winterbathers' Rallies become truly international.
On 14-15th October we are going to Stralsund to take part in one of the biggest sport event in the region and promote our Project. The Run cross the Rügen bridge, although organized only since 2009, has now grown into a national holiday in Germany, in which participates nearly 3,000 daredevils every year. There are four disciplines: marathon, run, walk and Nordic Walking.
After we get back we set out to conquest Trójmiasto, where we will encourage surprised customers of a shopping center the participate in our Rally. We will take with us a lot of Rally gadgets to give away so if you are around don't hesitate to pop by!. For each Winterbather, who will have a gadget from any previous Rally (eg T-shirt, pendant to the phone, pen, umbrella, etc.) with him we have a special gift. The exact date of the presentation and the name of the Centre will be sent by an email in the week before the presentation.
At the same time as we gain our part of Europe our partner - Båstad municipality in Sweden - conquers the rest of the South Baltic region. They started in July during the world-famous Swedish Open Tennis Tournament. The event attracted arround 50 000 audience to Båstad and was a great opportunity to present the first in the region of Scandinavia project of this type. Not forgetting our mutual neighbor - Denmark - on 22-23 October 2011 Båstad team will participate in the International Vagabond Fair 2011 - Travel Fair in Copenhagen. Each year the fair attractes about 20 000 visitors from all over Europe and is a great opportunity to present our joint project.
Soon we'll see how these coordinated actions will increase the number of Winterbathers' enthusiasts. The first test will take place on December 9-11- 2011 during the first ever Winter Bathing Festival in Båstad. This amazing event will allow to tighten bonds between Winterbathers from all over the South Baltic region and will be a celebration of a common tradition that are Winter Baths.
